The Junior Vagliano Trophy is a girls’ amateur international match played biennially between Great Britain and Ireland and the Continent of Europe and was first staged in 2011.

The Continent of Europe lifted the Junior Vagliano Trophy after a comfortable 15-3 winning scoreline against GB&I at Circolo Golf Bogogno in Italy.

The Junior Vagliano Trophy will be played at Royal St. George’s from 28 – 29 June 2019.

Royal St. George’s is situated in the south east of England in Sandwich, Kent and has a rich history of hosting elite amateur championships including the 2014 Ladies’ British Open Amateur Championship where Emily Pederson lifted the trophy. The Open will also return to Royal St. George’s in 2020 for the fifteenth occasion.

Over the years, Royal St George's has seen some of golf’s greatest players grace the historic links at Sandwich and was the scene for Darren Clarke’s famous Open victory in 2011.

The Vagliano Trophy comprises morning three foursomes followed by six afternoon singles on two consecutive days, with a total of 18 points available.

Introduced by the LGU and the EGA, the inaugural match between GB&I and the Continent of Europe was played at Royal Porthcawl, Wales, in 2011.

The junior match, for girls aged 16 and under, is played concurrently with the women’s equivalent.

The Continent of Europe won the inaugural match and have retained the trophy since defeating Great Britain in 2013 and 2015.
