Women's and Men's Senior Home Internationals

Following the publication of a revised schedule for amateur championships and international matches for 2021, a consolidated series of home international matches for boys and girls, women, senior men and women will take place at one venue for the first time.

Woodhall Spa will play host to the best amateur golfers that England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales have to offer for the matches from 4-6 August in 2021.

Woodhall Spa, the home of England Golf, will stage the Girls’, Boys’, Women’s, Women’s Senior and Men’s Senior Home Internationals from 4-6 August 2021 following a revised calendar of Championships and International Matches.

Woodhall Spa offers two magnificent courses – the Hotchkin and the Bracken – as leading players from Great Britain and Ireland look forward to the challenge in the annual Home International Matches.

The Women's and Men's Home International Matches will played over the Hotchkin course. 

The club has hosted many prestigious amateur championships, including the English Amateur and the Brabazon Trophy on several occasions.

Woodhall Spa is a former spa town and civil parish in Lincolnshire, England, on the southern edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds.

Teams of four women and four men from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales compete against each other as one team.

A match shall consist of four foursomes games (2 womens and 2 mens) and eight singles games (4 womens and 4 mens).

Each game shall consist of 18 holes. If a game is tied after the final hole, the game will not be extended.

When two or more teams have scored an equal number of match points the positions shall be determined by the number of individual game points (including games halved). If still a tie, the team with the highest number of individual game wins (excluding games halved) will be used.






R&A Women's Senior Home International Match

The R&A Women's Senior Home Internationals were first played in 2003 at Whittington Heath in England.Teams from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales competed for the Sue Johnson Trophy. Since the event was introduced, England have dominated the competition winning 10 times.


R&A Men's Senior Home International Match

The R&A Men’s Senior Home Internationals came under The R&A's administrative umbrella in 2020, having been founded in 2002.
