The Africa Amateur Championship will be played at Leopard Creek, South Africa from 5-8 February 2025.

The championship will feature 72 men from the Africa region competing in a 72-hole stroke play format with the winner receiving an exemption into The 153rd Open at Royal Portrush.  An invitational event for 20 elite women from the region will also be held at the same venue during the week of the championship.

Africa Amateur Championship

Leopard Creek, South Africa

The inaugural Africa Amateur Championship was staged at the renowned Leopard Creek from 21-24 February 2024. Situated near Malelane in the heart of Mpumalanga, Leopard Creek covers 360 hectares bordered to the north and west by the picturesque Crocodile River and the Kruger National Park. Leopard Creek has hosted the Alfred Dunhill Championship since 2004 and winners there include major champions such as Ernie Els and Charl Schwartzel, who has won the event three times at the venue.
