The R&A Boys’ Amateur Championship is one of the most prestigious in junior golf and is played annually in Great Britain and Ireland.

The international field attracts the best junior male golfers from around the globe and former winners include Sir Michael Bonallack, José María Olazábal, Sergio Garcia, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Adrián Otaegui, Tom Lewis and David Howell. Played since 1921, the champion earns exemptions into The Amateur Championship and Final Qualifying for The Open.

For the first time in 2022, the match play stages of the R&A Girls’ and Boys’ Amateur championships were played simultaneously at one venue at Carnoustie. In 2023, Yorkshire venues Ganton and Fulford will stage the championships. Ganton has hosted the Ryder, Walker and Curtis Cups in its illustrious history, while Fulford has staged in recent years the R&A Girls’ U16 Amateur Championship and the Girls’ Amateur Championship.
